Chief Strategy Officer
Jack Abel has been an integral part of The Meltzer Group since joining the company in 1991. In his current role of Chief Strategy Officer, Jack establishes and maintains customer, carrier and client relationships, while also leading The Meltzer Group’s growing market in Florida.
Beginning in 1999, Jack oversaw the expansion of Meltzer Group Benefits – helping to develop a group Retirement Plan division, and acquiring and integrating four insurance brokerages. With Jack’s leadership, Meltzer Group Benefits grew to become what it is today – one of the largest health and life insurers in the Washington metropolitan area.
Prior to joining The Meltzer Group, Jack served as Vice President of Richmarr Construction Corporation. His experience in the real estate and construction industries has been essential in guiding The Meltzer Group in servicing these sectors.
Jack is actively involved in the community and has served as a board member in several local charities, including Adoptions Together, Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, and the Jewish Community Center.
Jack is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland, with his wife, Meryl. They have two children, Alex and Brooke.
